Transparency is one of our founding commitments — here are the honest answers to what people ask us most.
Are Sattvaved products really chemical-free?
Yes — and we don't ask you to take our word for it. Every procurement batch goes through rapid chemical-residue testing before we accept it. Our partner farmers grow with jeevamrut and companion farming, never chemical fertilisers or pesticides.
Why is natural food more expensive than regular groceries?
It's less expensive than you think. Our staples cost only about 50% more than regular supermarket produce — roughly ₹10–12 extra per person per day, less than a tea and biscuit. Many organic brands charge 3–4× the market rate; we deliberately don't.
What is wooden cold-pressed (lakadi ghana) oil?
Oil extracted in a traditional wooden press that runs slow and stays below 50°C. This preserves up to 90% of vitamin E along with natural taste and aroma — compared to about 30% surviving in refined oils. No solvents, no hexane, no residues.
What makes stone chakki atta better than regular packet atta?
Regular atta is roller-milled at high speed — the heat destroys nutrients and the process strips bran and germ. Stone chakki grinds slowly and cool, keeping the whole grain intact: lower glycemic index, higher fibre, easier digestion, and far better taste.
Why do you mill flour only after I order?
Flour starts losing nutrition from the moment it's ground, and paper packaging (we don't use plastic) isn't meant for long storage. Milling against your order means what reaches you is genuinely fresh — it's also why our flour tastes different.
Is your packaging really plastic-free?
Completely. Atta and dals are packed in thick food-safe paper bags, filled fresh after you order, and delivered in cloth carry bags stitched from upcycled saris. Zero plastic touches your food.
What is the Weekly Grocery Kit?
The परिवार अन्नसत्व Kit packs a week of staples for a family of four at ₹599: 2.5 kg wheat flour, 0.75 kg jowar flour, 0.75 kg rice, 0.5 kg peanuts and 1 kg of mixed dals and pulses. See the Weekly Kit page for details.
